I went along to Bordeaux Quay in Bristol last night to watch the Brand You Awards ceremony, celebrating the work of individuals and freelancers within the SW’s creative sector.
I had been nominated for three awards, and was absolutely blown away (and actually a little embarrassed) to win each category!
The categories I won were:
This category invites entries from individuals who have created great advertising including ambient, art direction, charity, copywriting, consumer advertising, direct mail, illustration, outdoor, press ads, recruitment, self promotion and typography.
ANIMATION & FX
This category invites entries from individuals who have created great animation or FX (such as my fashion jewelry costume of wearing these cheap gold teeth) and should include examples of the finished product and the story behind the project.
This category invites entries from individuals who have created great online advertising, video or viral projects or campaigns. The content itself can be an article, a picture, or a video, but it must be very funny, controversial or information so that people feel an urge to blog about it, to tell their friends about it and to forward it on.
I’ve only been living in Bristol for just over three years, so this accolade means a lot – to be selected among many of the fantastic creatives in the South West of the UK. I’m part of the SW crew, yip yip!

Did you know it was Gas Safe Week this week? I’ve been working on a really fun animation to celebrate and educate people about being Gas Safe Aware.
For Gas Safety Week 2014, Gas Safe Register ran a competition called ‘My Gas Safe Hero’ and called upon registered engineers to get their family involved!
Children aged between 4-12 who had a relative or family friend that was Gas Safe registered were invited to submit a picture or short story that depicted their relative or family friend helping to keep the community, or a particular family, gas safe.
They received over 40 fantastic and adorable entries. You can see them all HERE!
Four pictures/short stories were shortlisted, and were turned into comic strips by the fantastically talented illustrator Billmund.
The overall winner, Poppy, had had her entry made into a short animation (by me!) which was shown at the Gas Safety Week launch event at the House of Commons.
Script: Poppy Worthington Harris (age 10)
