I’ve just finished a rather nice job illustrating a book for a new author, Andrew Spence.

It is a lovely little story with endearing characters.

Being a project with a quick turn around, I wanted to get as many illustrations on each double page spread as I could in the allocated time. Because of this, I veered away from my usual layer-upon-layer of complex texture colouring, and used clean block colours for most of the book. It was strange for me to work in this way, but I am rather pleased with the graphic/minimal outcome.
